When a friend of mine was elimintated at the 3rd place spot of Australian Idol in 2004, there was a lot of people who had been on the forums who had expressed their joy with Court's work. I decided to do up "Blind Freddies book of funky cool quotes" for Courtney to express what people were thinking of his performance and how much he touched peoples lives.

Now I am thinking of doing the same for Studio 60. Something we can send to Aaron and Tommy et al.

I am looking for people to write a brief message of thanks to the cast and crew and send them to me. I will print them out and compile them into a scrap book and forward them on to Shoe Money. I think it would be nice for us to point out to the guys that we did appreciate what they had done.

I have a spare email account I will use for any submissions. I will have the email acct open until the end of July when I will compile everything.

If you are interested, can you provide your Name and location, if you want to put a small photo of say 150x150 of yourself I am more than happy to add it to the side of your message. If you could keep the message under 500 words would also be appreciated.

Here is the email address

If anyone reading this is a member of [info]studio_60 and want to cross post, go nuts - I'm just not a member there...  If anyone else can think of people who might like to drop a line... please feel free to pass this on.

Somebody mentioned the pics of "The Disaster Show" (the original version) at Sparklies and I went to have a look. I opened this shot http://www.sparklies.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=381&pos=1 up to full size and scrolled almost down to the bottom. Then sat and stared for several minutes before I could muster up any control over my brain again.

I'm really hoping we get to see these scenes next week.

Ok guys, feel free to make with the discussion here. Enjoy and spare a thought for those of us (i.e. me) who won't get to watch until Monday.

So art got its ass kicked. Say "Goodbye" to a great show by supporting New Orleans' music culture.

A group of us thought it would be a nice idea to somehow say a public “Thank You” to Aaron and the team for bringing us Studio 60.

To this end, we’d like to place an advertisement in the LA Times Entertainment Section on Thursday 28th June, which is when the final episode is due to air. The quarter-page ad will cost approximately $5,000.

The text on the advert will be simple – just a thank you, nothing nasty aimed at NBC (no matter how much we’d like to! – we don’t want to come across as honey-crusted nut bars!), and will also feature details of how to donate to Tipitina’s Foundation.

What’s Tipitina’s Foundation?Collapse )

In order to buy the advertising space, we need your help. Anything you can afford to help raise funds for the ad will be greatly appreciated.

We’ve set up a PayPal account and it’s simple to use.

We’ve created a new community - thanks2studio60, simply to monitor fundraising and report on progress. We’ll be posting updates and information plus details as to how you can make a donation to Tipitina’s Foundation over there – and hopefully, as soon as it’s ready, you’ll be able to see a copy of the advertisement we intend to run, which is being designed by the fabulous coloneljack as I write.

This community is NOT the place to discuss Studio 60 episodes or take pot-shots at NBC.

So please do come and join us – help us to say thanks to Aaron and the team, and raise some money for a good cause.

We know Mr Sorkin likes to recycle his ideas, episode titles, sight gags and even dialogue. According to the Wikipedia episode list, there are 23 eps, of which the last is called "What Kind of Day Has it Been?". I can't find mention of this anywhere else, so it may just be wishful thinking. But if Aaron's going to have his bit of fun, do his bit for green-ness and do some more recycling, if he were to reuse the line "The only thing you ever had to do to make me happy was come home at the end of the day.", who would say it and to whom?
